I'm a Proud Parent

Barney and Sophie...  who could ask for better kids!  These are photos taken over several years.  The first pic is the day we brought Barney home from the animal shelter in 1992.  The second photo is a couple years later when we brought Sophie home from the animal shelter craft fair in Uvalde where we happened to be for a weekend in June, 1994.

Barney's the smart one.  Barney is a golden retriever mixed with something to keep him small, maybe sheltie or border collie.  Whatever it was, he was the smartest dog I've ever known.  He was the valedictorian of his class.  We held a party for him and his other doggie friends when he graduated.

Sophie was the pretty one.  A full blood Basset hound.  The runt of a litter of 13 puppies, her mom simply couldn't tend to her properly, so she was very ill when we brought her home.  After some major vet bills, she grew to a beautiful, if not stubborn girl.
