Once a Geek, Always a Geek

When I was in high school, I was a band geek... and so were my brothers and sister.  When I graduated, I was still interested in helping the Band.  Since Roger was still in school, I volunteered frequently to help out.  They went on much cooler band trips than we did...  in 1981 or 1982 (I don't specifically remember) I drove the equipment truck on their trip to Colorado along with several of the band dads. 

Highlands High School marched a "cast of thousands" during those days.  It took 8 chartered busses to get the Band, Color Guard, and Brigade to various events.  While we were there, the group appeared in a parade and field show competition, then there was plenty of time for sight seeing too.
